On Monday 19 February, Amaroo students were fortunate to have a visit from an author. Her name is Jessica Love, she is
16 years old and is from a defence family. Jess has written and illustrated two
picture books, Soon and Sometimes. These books explore the
feelings of kids who’s parents work in the defence forces and are faced with
the challenges of parents being deployed and reintegration after separation.

Week 1 Term 1 2018
Welcome to the 2018 school year. It is so great to see everyone back from holidays and ready to start learning. There will be lots of great events happening in the Inspire@Amaroo centre this year.
The Winter Olympics begin this week, and next week we celebrate 'Library Lovers Day' and Chinese New Year. I had the privilege of visiting Hong Kong in the holidays and brought back some amazing Chinese New Year decorations to display in the library. Make sure you come and check them out from next Friday (16 February).
BOOK FAIR
In week 5 we will be holding our first Scholastic Book Fair for the year. More information will be coming soon so stay tuned or ask the Inspire centre staff for more information. Our second book fair will happen at the end of the year.
