What a wonderful week it was in the Inspire centre this week. There were lots of different activities for students and families to engage in. Our book display in the library helped us "Escape to everywhere." Year 3 classes had a visit from Mrs Otten to 'A bad case of stripes.' They created artwork to show what they have a bad case of. Year 1 students visited the Inspire centre and listened to Mrs Otten read 'Chip.' They created artwork of Chip in disguise. 3 classes from the Amaroo day care centre visited Amaroo school to listen to Mrs Otten read 'The Snow Wombat.' They created a winter hat using cardboard and cotton balls. Mrs Otten also visited the Diamond Terrace dressed as a butterfly to read 'The very hungry caterpillar' to students.
On Wednesday night we held a special Family reading night. We got a 'taste' of some new books and listened to Ms Bailetti and Mrs Otten read stories.
On Friday we enjoyed a special Book Week assembly which featured a message from author Tim Harris. Students from the book club read us a story and we presented the Family reading night prizes. Congratulations to the winners. A huge thank you to Book Face in Gungahlin for donating a book voucher as 1st prize.
What a wonderful week.
Well done on all your amazing book week activities. We particularly enjoyed the family reading night! Thank you. From the Kelly Family
